With reference to your letter of the 17th instant stating that the Council of the Liverpool Chamber of Commerce support the resolution of the China Association
relative to the continuance in China of the provisions
of the Trading with the Enemy Act, I am directed by
Earl Curzon of Kedleston to transmit to you herewith a copy of correspondence with the London Chamber of
Commerce on this subject.
2. It will be seen from this correspondence that
the object in view will be achieved by the undertaking
of the Chinese Goverment to expel all enemy subjects
from their territory.
